He has created a number of fanciful prints for the likes of iittala and Marimekko, distinguishing himself with his ornamental style. His Taika dinnerware line for iittala has proven enormously popular in both Finland and abroad and has been released in a number of colorwaves. Likewise, his Jaakarhu polar bear design for Marimekko has received an equally enthusiastic reception. The adorable design is featured on a number of readymade items from mousepads to bedding. A young designer, Haapaniemi is only at the beginning of what is sure to be a prolific career.
